Municipal --- Designed and administered construction (in a small team) for 16 ha hillside site on the West Vancouver Upper Lands: 950 m of collector road and 500 m of local road, two large creek crossings, a 230-m-long mechanically stabilized earth retaining wall with maximum height of 6 m, and 230 m of rear-yard sewers along the top of the retaining wall
Part of the original Rodgers Creek Neighbourhood proposal when started, Taylor's Lookout comprises the infill development between Rodgers Creek East and Marr Creek adjacent to the Collingwood School. In 2005, we began designing the streets in detail and British Pacific Properties advanced this area into an official subdivision application separate from the rest of the Rodgers Creek Neighbourhood.
Our work covered the infrastructure needed for the detached housing lots.
- We connected Chippendale Road between the two streams and eliminated the cul-de-sacs.
- We built a small traffic circle to connect the private school, Chelsea Court and Chairlift Close to new streets
-
We extended and connected Chairlift Road to the traffic circle
- We built Marr Creek Court and Garden Court
Among the detached houses, Taylor's Lookout includes three places which allow more people to live in the area: two townhouse complexes and the string of houses along the south side of Marr Creek Court.
Parallel to Marr Creek Court, we built the rainwater and sanitary pipes in a corridor along the top of a 6 m high mechanically stabilized earth wall. We designed a short concrete retaining wall to install the sewer pipes and prevent conflict and interference with the structure of the mechanically stabilized earth wall.
