I wonder what an actual engineering cooperative would look like. In 2016, I learned about Sustainable Solutions Group, a professional services coop working with cities to solve problems emerging when planning for climate change.

Sustainable Solutions Group started around 2001 and, in 2019, involves 40 members and associates providing professional services.

A vast community of people in Spain live and work with cooperatives that seem to have weathered the 2008 crash well.

Is it time to figure out how to bring democracy into engineering work and build an engineering cooperative?

Perhaps it's time to review what Canadian Worker and Cooperatives and Mutuals Canada know about building and maintaining democratic ownership and consider the idea. Gather the knowledge. Float the idea?
